Kelly is a Lemmon native. He graduated from Lemmon High School in 1995. To know Kelly is to know that he loves basketball! He pretended he was Michael Jordan as a kid—Michael was his all-time favorite player, and he never missed a Chicago Bulls game on WGN. He later played on the Lemmon High School football and basketball team, where he learned the importance of hard work, dedication, a positive attitude, communication, and teamwork.
Kelly carried these lessons into his passion for the automotive industry, where he has worked for nearly 20 years. Kelly started out as an auto salesperson in his early twenties and worked his way up to a high-level management position at Pierson Ford in Aberdeen, SD. As Kelly built his career in the auto industry, he and his partners opened Dakota Auto Center (in Lemmon, SD) in 2013. As the business grew, Kelly stepped away from his management position at Pierson Ford, bought out his partners, and formed AutoMaxx of Lemmon.
Kelly’s business philosophy is simple: customers deserve professional and efficient help in finding their perfect vehicle match at a fair price. Customers should never spin their wheels finding their vehicle. Kelly devotes his time to making the process as simple and satisfactory as possible for the customer.
